14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.

Hand written ordinances!

I have often pondered what it meant when in Genesis 26:5 it says: Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws.
That's quite the list and I often refer to this in the argument that Gods laws were in effect before the time of moses. But is there more to this list? What does it mean when God says to Isaac "my statutes, and my laws." One would think that there was a lot more going on then we have record of.

Now when I ponder the word "statutes" I cannot help but to think of this as "bylaws".

We know that God wrote the ten commandments himself both times on tables of stone. But the rest of those laws which the Jews were to follow were written by moses that was called the Book of Law or the Book of Ordinances. These were the "bylaws" that they were ordered to follow and all agreed on (Ex. 24:7).

Now we know that God is neither male nor female and that God is spirit (Jn. 4:24) and therefore has neither hand nor finger. So when it says that the ten commandments were written with the finger of God, this of course must mean something other then its literal translation. Since God is spirit, then we cannot count the ten commandments into this Galatians scripture.

So what about all the other laws that we were commanded to do? Does it mean they are nailed to the cross and done away with? Or is it possible the bible tells us what exactly this means?

I will try to put this as plainly as I can.

Romans 7: 6
But now we are delivered from from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

First off what this verse does is explain what Matthew 5: 18 means! When Christ died on the cross, he became our new High Priest, thus making the law complete or whole. Then we were given the Holy Spirit by which all our understanding of the scripture would come. Its through the Spirit that we understand.
The old law was not complete. In verse 4 of Roman 7, we can see what Paul meant! Through the old law we could not bear fruit! Meaning we could not work fully in accordance with the scripture and so Christs death allowed us to be more complete with God and allow us to Worship in Spirit!

Does that mean we do not keep the law? By no means as Paul says in Rom. 3: 31..."we uphold the law" Thus we serve in the "newness" of the law, through Christ Jesus. So what really changed then? Certainly by the scriptures we can see we are to keep the law, but what was really nailed to the cross?

I think most of us know that Christ is often referred to as the "Lamb of God". This really means a lot in its context. First by the old letter of the law or the written code, we see that God required a lamb or a bull without blemish for the forgiveness of sin. It was the priest job to perform this sacrifice for the
the people of Israel. The lamb was killed and its blood sprinkled over the alter of sacrifices and its meat and fatty portions consumed with fire. Then the high priest would take the blood and go behind the "Curtain of Hostility" (Eph. 2:14 NIV) sprinkle blood and then confess the sins of Israel to God.
Christ representing this same law, abolished in his flesh the enmity of these ordinances (Eph. 2: 15) to make peace between the two.

Ephesians 2: 14-15

14) For he is our peace who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us,
15) having abolished the in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make himself of twain one new man, so making peace.

So Christ made peace by combining the Law of God with Grace through his blood shed on the cross! And so we get the meaning of "Fulfilling the Law"!

Hebrews 7: 12-19

12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made necessity a change also of the Law.
13) For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14) For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.15) And it is yet far more evident that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest.
16) Who is made not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of endless life.17) For he testifieth, though art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18) For there is verily a disanulling of the commandment going before the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19) For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God

Don’t mess with butterflies

Because butterflies are tough,

They’ll kick you and hit you

And leave you screaming, "enough."

They will jump on your chest

And stomp on your hand,

Knock you to the floor

And giggle when you land.

Now I know what you’re thinking,

How could this be?

It’s just a little butterfly

Flying through a tree.

Long slim bodies,

Bright and colorful wings,

And when they flutter around

It makes you want to sing.

But you need to be aware

When their four feet tall,

Wearing pants and shirt

And flying down the hall,

Its then they land upon you

While laughing with a gruff,

So don’t go messing with butterflies

Because butterflies get rough!

Hello to all my friends and welcome to all my guests! Its a great day for setting out to share with you all.

Its early morning here in the North West United States, and after three days of rain, its cold and still cloudy. But we needed the rain as we had not recieved our normal amounts this year.

We had a fun evening last night. The kids were being funny and I had a chance to chase them around the house before they went to bed! Its amazing how fast the level of noise through the house can escelate into a roar! They all took to screaming and running and before it was done, I could not even hear myself thinking! My five year old daughter has taken to quoting movie lines, like one from Rush Hour two, when the two main characters are talking to each other and one says "Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth", and then the other replies, "No one understands the words coming out of your mouth". Its great the way she does it because she wrinkles her nose and growls her voice like she is mad! Its funny to watch and see!

I have a lot to do today! But hope to be back tonight adding content to this page!
